Arwen Cranberry Dress

Description

Some while ago I made an Arwen Cranberry dress.
I finally got some beautiful pictures of this dress to share.

This dress is still up for sale. You can buy it on etsy (www.etsy.com/listing/211967801…) or just contact me here. The dress will best fit an M (Model is XS-S) and costs 499 EUR plus shipping.

Arwen's Cranberry dress is made of a soft, dark red plushy stretch velvet. The fabric makes for a great drape and gives the whole dress a subtle sheen. The sleeves are narrow at the upper arm and widen to the typical Elven style of the movie. They have to be draped on the arm. The dress is one part (unlike the Requiem Gown or Coronation Gown) and fitted to the waist. And it has that gorgeous long train Arwen's original dress has. Due to the stretch in the fabric this dress does not need a back closure.

The neckline trim and the one around the sleeves are completly made by myself. I used machine embroidery with a silver yarn on dark red satin as foundation and accented that with small glass beads in clear, frosted white, silver and dark red, macking for over 700 handsewn beads in total. I added some silver sequins, too. The whole neckline is finished by hand, adding clear glass beads all around the top seam and a silver cord at the bottom of the trim.
The sleeves again are silver machine embroidery with added beads. This one is finished with two rows of silver gimp and one row of silver bugles and glass beads again in between.
